As paragliding and hang-gliding are getting very popular, the Bretterschachten Activity Center now provides a starting ramp for this exciting sport on the Hochzell mount in Bodenmais. The "Drachen- und Gleitschirmclub Bayerwald" association and chairman Georg Rauscher were looking for a suitable starting place in and around Bodenmais for some time now and finally found the Hochzell mount. The association, initially established 1977 as a hang-glider club was opened to paragliding 2002 and now looks back on over a more than 30 year existence. However this "silent sport" has only become more popular in recent years, although it has always been the dream of mankind to fly like a bird. It’s very important that the sport tourism must treat our ecological resources with great care. Paraglide and hang-gliders are outward bound without stress and pressure, thus not losing out on the fun of flying.
