The shopping and culture night is a synonym in Bodenmais and the Bavarian Forest, for a great summer evening with many attractions. Taking place on the 7 August at 18:00 until midnight for the third time running, attracting visitors from near and far.

The program really is so comprehensive this year that visitors will find it hard to decide what to do first! Up at the marketplace at 20.00, no one less than Udo Jürgens await the audience. However not personally, but represented by Germanys best current imitator Alex Parker. Even the original himself was delighted with the performance. He’s also been able to prove his abilities on numerous TV appearances. For example at the “Grand Prix der Volksmusik“ (ZDF) or ”Der Weddingplaner“ (Pro7) where Alex Parker also appeared with his own music. Everyone can sing along with those classic German hits like “Aber bitte mit Sahne!“ or “Ich war noch niemals in New York“ which automatically creates a great atmosphere. But that’s by no means all. The next star guest is already appearing at 19.00 at the “Vineyard for a night” stage on the Kuhbrücke. Gloria Gray is indeed the epitome of travesty entertainment. The Zwieseler actress, singer and show master, model and entertainer will honor us with a brief guest appearance in her old and new homeland. Since this summer she’s come back to live in Zwiesel in the Bavarian Forest, where she’s running the “Cafe Gloria“. She didn’t hesitate at all to accept the invitation from the mayor of Bodenmais, Micheal Adam. And of course she’ll been duly welcomed by the young guildhall principal. But there are not just two stages in Bodenmais on the 7. August, in fact there are three of them! The Rissbachfischer will be serving fresh fish at 15:00 on the JOSKA grounds at the centre from their fisherman’s festival, accompanied with music for friends of real Bavarian entertainment and of course tasty fish. At the Bahnfofstraße crossroads (Finkenweg) dancing takes place at 19.00 and at 21.00! The Hip-Hop dance school “Moving Art” will be showing a taste of their skills with a short introduction. The Bodenmaiser dance school supervisor Nicole Asam proudly presents her dancers, who have successfully won both the Hip-Hop dance deputy European championship and the German championship. For those who still aren’t feeling that hot blooded rhythm, just wait until the Samba group from the Regener Musikwerkstatt make their appearance and dance through the streets, you won’t be able to keep your feet still. And finally the fire juggler troupe “Castra Vitra“ will ensure an enjoyable romantic atmosphere, along with a glass of Austrian organic wine at the “Vineyard for a night” and swing from the ”4 Deuces Jazz Combo”, meeting a few friends to round it off with that real “summer night feeling”. For the little ones ”Bertl cats farmyard” will be open in front of the guildhall on the Bahnhofstraße at 14:00, with an adventure farmyard that will surely be a delight for all children: with a juice squeezer, a tractor display and lots of practical fun and amusement. After the farmyard it’s off to the library where at 20.00 our little visitors will enjoy a great scary ghost book hour, with ghost stories told by the librarian Christine Freilinger.


But of course a shopping night is mainly there to enjoy yourself and have fun going shopping. The Bodenmais retailers have changed the entire shopping mile into a real shopping paradise with creative ideas and sale events. With sale discount offers of up to 70%, presentations from market innovations, spectacle parties, special car washes and heating stove with baking demonstrations and styling advice. Here you can get all the advice you need, try on and purchase with all the time in the world. Bargain hunters will find just what they’re looking for at the jumble sale on the Bahnhofstraße. And of course the men will spend more than just a few minutes at the regional car dealer displays to admire the latest models or the Goldwing motorbikes. In the meantime the women can visit the art and crafts market in the Kötztinger Straße with all the time in the world and buy one or the other works of art.
