The shopping and culture night in Bodenmais 2011 now takes place for the fourth consecutive year. It’s taking place on Friday 5th August at 18.00 once again, attracting visitors from near and far.
On the marketplace at 18.00, the duo “Da Stenz und de Stianghausratschn” await the public. The duo is reviving the old traditional “Münchner Ratschkatln” in Bavarian dialect. In Bavaria the “Ratschkatln” is the forerunner of the political and social cabarets. Telling stories from daily life, whether about the frumpy relations, friends and neighbors or the great shopping spree attack and more. With songs that were written with “conviction”: cheeky, “back-stabbing”, “blunt” or simply just good.
An entertaining and humorous program with a “jack of all trades” and a “busy body”! Afterwards the siblings band “Sitte – Zöllner- Trio” will make an appearance at the marketplace. Sarah, Konrad und Moritz Sitte-Zöllner are an up and coming newcomer band from Kollnburg. Talent and the passion to make music are more than obvious when you hear and see the three performing.
Leader and pianist “Konni” knows how to celebrate on stage, and then pitch a heart-wringing ballad just a few minutes later. He loves to rearrange current pop songs, classical works and mix them together with his own conceived sounds to a musical cocktail, inspired by both current and swinging numbers from the ”good old lads”.
The Bodenmaiser trio „Schnurzn Gred“ (dead straight) offer subtly changed folk songs that give us an insight in to Bavarian daily life, with humorous and honest lyrics to the songs. With Walter Geiger on the Styrian accordion, Wendelin Wölfl on double bass and Hans Reiter on guitar, they choose to perform direct, honest and without amplifier. You can hear them on the Bahnhofstraße at 19.00.
For those who still haven’t experienced any hot blooded rhythm, the performance of the Teisnacher Band Samba group through the town will ensure that nobody can keep their feet still.
But the shopping night also has some mystery in store.
The Engelshütter witches from the Lam will be dancing the whole night in the little “boiling pot” at the Bahnhofstraße, serving some witches potion. Not forgetting the fire-eaters at JOSKA on the Scharebenstraße who will light up the night. Besides that there's free name engraving offered.
There’s a “Ghost story hour” at 20.00 in the library at the old Guildhall for our little visitors, who can enjoy a great scary ghost book hour and a handicrafts evening with the librarian Christine Freilinger (until 21.30).
But of course a shopping night is mainly there to enjoy yourself and have fun going shopping. The Bodenmais retailers have changed the entire shopping mile into a real shopping paradise with creative ideas and sale events. With sale discount offers of up to 70%, presentations from market innovations, spectacle parties, special car washes and heating stove displays with baking demonstrations and styling advice. Here you can get all the advice you need, try on and purchase with all the time in the world. Bargain hunters will find just what they’re looking for at the sales booths on the Bahnhofstraße. And of course the men will spend more than just a few minutes at the regional car dealer displays to admire the latest models. In the meantime the women can visit the art and crafts market in the Kötztinger Straße with all the time in the world and buy one or the other works of art.
