This coming Wednesday on the 10th August at 19:00 in Bodenmais, the first RWE fan club meeting takes place in the ”Ofenstüberl” at the Scherau 31. All those who attend the meeting in the Ofenstüberl take part on the draw to win two tickets to the DFB-Cup match between RWE and Hertha BSC Berlin in Essen on the 25th or 26th October, including board and lodging in a first class hotel.
All locals and holiday guests are invited to come to the meeting. The Mayor Michael Adam and the managing director of the Bodenmais Tourismus und Marketing GmbH, Andreas Lambeck, will also be participating.
Due to an unusual holiday cover story, the first Rot-Weiß-Essen Fan Club Bodenmais was established in May this year, headed by Mayor Michael Adam. It was holidaymaker Dieter Berger who got the ball rolling. He complained that the local press didn’t offer the results of his favorite club in the newspaper while on holiday in Bodenmais – and the fact that after reading an advert in the stadium magazine ”KurzeFuffzehn” that initially drew his attention to the resort - “Holiday paradise + RWE = 2 strong partners”, he decided to visit Bodenmais! Actually, Dieter Berger was perfectly happy with the “official RWE holiday resort“, it was just the problem with the missing match results that bothered him. It was the newspaper that made the proposal to vitalize the partnership and establish the first official Rot-Weiß-Essen Fan Club Bodenmais.
That’s precisely what Mayor Michael Adam officially did on the 29th May.
The fact that many holidaymakers are coming from Essen and many new guests show greater interest in Bodenmais due to the partnership with RWE, is the best reason for the fan club. And of course the football club with its long tradition was keen on the idea. Michael Welling, the head chairman from Rot-Weiß Essen said, “We really are pleasantly astonished that our RWE is receiving so much cordial attention with the spontaneous efforts to establish a fan club!”
The first fans have already arrived in Bodenmais and Dieter Berger is looking forward to Wednesday, when hopefully lots of RWE fans will come together in the Ofenstüberl.
