30 years later the summer-holiday express travels to Bodenmais again:

About 30 years ago holidaymakers travelled directly to Bodenmais in the Bavarian Forest from all over Germany with the TUI holiday express without changing trains. This is exactly what the major holiday resort in the Bavarian Forest is offering again this summer. All those yearning for nostalgic happy memories of bygone days will be delighted: the construction of the railway line between Zwiesel and Bodenmais began 1927, and over 80 years ago the first trains with holidaymakers rolled into Bodenmais railway station. The Bodenmais Express now relives this tradition. The exclusive excursion train can be boarded at the following railway stations: Bremen, Osnabrück, Münster, Dortmund, Bochum, Essen, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Koblenz, Frankfurt-Süd, Würzburg und Nürnberg. Travel to Bodenmais without changing trains and arrive directly in front of the guildhall where all guests on the Bodenmais Express will be welcomed by the Mayor Michael Adam and the Miners Association brass band.


A comprehensive entertainment program awaits you in Bodenmais during the following seven days: on the 16th of June the traditional Bavarian St. Bennofest will be officially opened with a procession to the festival marquee – including the beer tapping ceremony with Mayor Adam. On the opening day seats are reserved for all Bodenmais Express guests along with a free barbecued chicken halve and a liter of beer (Maß). Musical entertainment is provided daily in the festival marquee. The celebrations last six days – and you can take part too!

But the highlight of your holiday is yet to come: the anniversary party to celebrate the 50th company anniversary of JOSKA Bodenmais is taking place at the JOSKA glass paradise, along with pop star Nicki (Wenn i mit dir tanz`) and the Bavarian vocalists Marina Koller and Sandra Weiß, who won the “Grand-Prix der Volksmusik”. Apart from the stars, the party also offers a Bavarian buffet, a great tombola, midnight shopping with many anniversary bargains and a glass-blowing display for all Bodenmais Express guests.
