Bodenmais tourism starts new project.

The Kick-off with information and basic conditions took place on 20th September at 19.30 at the JOSKA-Kristall restaurant. Together with the BAYERN TOURISMUS Marketing GmbH, the around 80 Bodenmaiser lodgings should undergo further development to attain WellVital status. The by.TM managing director Sybille Wiedenmann will accompany the pilot project.
During the comprehensive information presentation, the pilot project that will initially help and coach landlords of holiday apartments and boarding houses to attain WellVital status, was extensively visualized and the basic conditions were expounded. Mayor Michael Adam and Sybille Wiedenmann, managing director of the BAYERN TOURISMUS Marketing GmbH (by.TM), Andreas Lambeck, managing director of the Bodenmais Tourismus & Marketing GmbH, were heading the panel.
The market town of Bodenmais aims to make the existing holiday apartments and boarding houses more attractive in order to make them more competitive in an increasingly tough tourism market: Together with the cooperation’s partner BAYERN TOURISMUS Marketing, a selection of holiday apartments and boarding houses should be enabled to attain WellVital status. Important for the landlords participating: The costs of the large-scale project, approximately 85.000 Euros, will be financed to a large extent from public means. The landlords participating will hardly have any expenditure for the training, which includes coaching and certification. Only a small symbolic share of expenses must be invested into the common marketing concept.
Around 50 percent of all overnight stays in Bodenmais are represented in the category holiday apartments and boarding houses; however the capacity utilization has decreased consistently since the middle of the 90’s until 2007. This is why Bodenmais, the Bodenmais Tourism & Marketing GmbH (BTM) and the BAVARIA TOURISM Marketing GmbH want to make a joint effort. “It always was our goal that the Bodenmaiser holiday apartments and boarding houses should further develop and qualify themselves. Due to the fact that Bodenmais almost solely lives from the tourism, we feel responsible as an integral part of the market town to promote this development”, said BTM managing director Andreas Lambeck.
There’s far more to it today, than just offering bed and breakfast in order to win a guest for the resort. In order to increase capacity utilization, the lodgings must have a transparent accommodation profile, offering extensive high quality. After the first attempt to run the project plan together with German Wellness Association failed, due to unrealistic concepts from the association, Bodenmais has now found a reliable partner for the pilot project. The BAYERN TOURISMUS Marketing GmbH with the wellness label WellVital is now supporting the BTM. The goal is to qualify the holiday apartments and boarding houses step by step to WellVital houses and give the landlords the opportunity to gain particular performance characteristics. This will improve the marketing possibilities for both the landlords and the resort.
The entire qualification will be taken care of by a WellVital coach. The landlords who are qualifying will be divided into smaller groups and “taken by the hand“ so to say, in order to illustrate how the theoretical knowledge can be put into practice. The coach will be at the disposal of the around 80 businesses for a whole year. The sum of 36000 Euros has been taken into account solely for around 1000 hours of personal coaching and costs. “This project for holiday apartments and boarding houses is based on the already well established WellVital label. We want to support our landlords this way. The pilot project can of course be adopted by other holiday resorts later“, illustrated tourism director Andreas Lambeck further. It’s important that all landlords now make a note of this fixed appointment today.
