A delegation of hotel experts, tourism experts and businessmen with managing director of the Tourismus GmbH Oberhof Enrico Hess, took a three day visit to Bodenmais to informed themselves on location and gather helpful suggestions from the "Bodenmaiser method".
Enrico Hess is the managing director of the Tourismus GmbH Oberhof since 2010, and was assigned by his supervisory board to stop the stagnation and downwards trend of past years in Oberhof, to stabilize the situation and increase the number of overnight stays. Although Oberhof is well known as a winter sport destination worldwide, it doesn't possess anything like the matured network structures from Bodenmais. As many landlords don't really know each other, the example of Bodenmais should show how cooperation and constructive critic between landlords, businessmen, the Bodenmais Tourismus & Marketing GmbH and Bodenmais should work, and indeed successfully does.
Guests residing in Oberhof do take advantage of weekend offers and more when it comes to ski events, but there's hardly such a holiday region with holidays like Oberhof, where the average stop-over duration amounts to around three days.
The interested tourist experts didn't just view the resort as such but also a selective number of bigger and smaller hotels, as well as boarding houses and holiday flats in order to get an overall picture of the accommodation standards offered in Bodenmais and gather ideas to take home. A guided tour through the JOSKA Crystal-world of experience was a must as well as a visit to view the Silberberg indoor baths and the sauna facilities.
Above all it was the cordial and frank approach of the Bodenmaiser hospitality that impressed the Oberhofer, anwering all questions posed without any restraint.
During a pleasant dinner in Hotel Mooshof with family Holzer, the Oberhofer soon relaxed and extensively discussed all aspects of tourism with Mayor Michael Adam, Andreas Lambeck, the managing director of the Bodenmais Tourism & Marketing GmbH and his deputy Katharina Hartl.
During his farewell address, managing director Enrico Hess thanked his Bodenmaiser colleague Andreas Lambeck and team, who organized and accompanied the program and invited them to a return visit in Oberhof.
BTM managing director Andreas Lambeck was very pleased with the visit of the Oberhofer and thanked Anita and Anton Holzer from Hotel Mooshof for their support, as the majority of the guests from Thüringen resided in the Hotel Mooshof, the rest resided in the Hotel Bodenmaiser Hof.
Full of impressions, helpful tips and in the understanding that the first steps towards a further developing cooperation had been taken, the Oberhofer bid farewell to their host and business members of the Bodenmaiser team, and enjoyed some impressions from the Arbersee, the biathlon stadium, the Großen Arber and the National Park on their way home.
