There’s certainly a lot going on in Bodenmais at carnival time. It‘s not only the Rheinlander that renowned for their Fasching or Carnival celebrations; the “Bodenmaiser” can do it too:

11. February at 17:11: on “Unsinnigen Donnerstag” the “Bodenmaiser Faschingsweiber” will be storming the guildhall, making sure of a real harebrained atmosphere with music and free beer.

11. February at 20:00: „Sportlerball am Weiberfasching“ on „Unsinnigen Donnerstag“ in the Disco Platzl with the „BLUE POWERBAND“ and a highlight for all ladies.

13. February at 20:00: “The Turnerball 2010”, the legendary carnival ball of the Gymnastic and Sport Club Bodenmais 1905 e. V. will be taking place at the parish hall in the Bahnhofstraße. Admission at 18:00.
The first 100 entrants will be welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine. “Kir Royal Extra“ will be providing the necessary carnival atmosphere. Beside the big tombola and hearty sketches, there’ll be the “Moving Art Dancers”. Admission 8.00 Euros.

14. February at 20:00: Open Air “ABBA carnival party” – “A Tribute to ABBA” – a concert from the international ABBA cover live band “Waterloo” at the market place.

15. February at 20:00: on Carnival Monday the” Pfarrball” takes place at the parish hall in the Bahnhofstraße. With carnival jester speeches, sketches taken from everyday life and great music, the temperature starts to rise at 20:00.

15. February at 20:00: “Faschingsgaudi” at the Carnival Monday party in the Hotel Waldesruh with program and live-music.

15. February at 20:00: “Faschingsfinale”at the Disco Platzl with the party band “Die Ganoven”

16. February at 11:00: On Shrove Tuesday the traditional procession “Gaudiwurm” runs through Bodenmais. Member of many clubs and associations along with various groups join together and trail from the Janstraße along the Bahnhofstraße and up to the market place. Then an “After trailing-party” will take place at the Bodenmais market place, done by the Youth Culture Association.

16. February at 13:00: Children’s carnival at the parish hall in the Bahnhofstraße with the clown Uschi and her assistants.
