Bodenmais. Carnival in Bodenmais is ready and raring to go. Starting this Thursday 11.02 "unsinnigen Donnerstag“, with the “storming of the guildhall”, when the Bodenmais carnival skirts take charge of the guildhall in Bodenmais at 17:11. There’ll be lots of fun along with free beer and doughnuts.
On Carnival Saturday the 13.02., the traditional TSV Bodenmais “Turnerball” will be taking place in the parish hall. For many years now, the ball has been a guarantee for good humor and high spirits long with entertaining sketches from the world of football.
Carnival Sunday on the 14.02., will be characterized by the music from ABBA. It’s music that everybody knows and can join in and sing to. The cover band” Waterloo” was especially arranged by the Bodenmais Tourismus & Marketing GmbH. The band will be giving a live concert with the greatest hits from ABBA at 20:00, providing that ultimate party feeling. Although the four members of the Swedish cult band broke up back in 1982, their music is still inspiring people to the present day. Attention please! The program has been extended at short notice: DJ Toni will already be providing a great warming-up at 18.30.
Finally, as usual in Bodenmais on Shrove Tuesday 16 Feb at approx. 11:00, the carnival procession runs through Bodenmais up to the market place, where the “After trailing-party” will take place, run by the Youth Culture Association. At 13.00 in the parish hall, the children’s carnival will slowly come to an end, concluding the carnival celebrations for the younger ones. But not forgetting our Bodenmais gastronomy, and numerous carnival arrangements offered in restaurants, pubs and the disco.
Participating groups for the carnival procession can apply until 12.02. 2010 at the Events Office in the “Alten Rathaus” (Tel. +49(0)9924/905294 or event@bodenmais.de) All groups participating with a carriage, will be awarded 50 €uros “carriage money”. Additionally, every “walking group” will be provided with a bag of sweets-”Guatl-Paket”.
