“Christmas in the forest” - on the 18.12.11
“d’ Weihnacht im Woid” - Traditional Bavarian Advent and Christmas singing in Bodenmais on the 4th Sunday in Advent, the 18th of December 2011 – at 17.00 in the Cath. parish church of Mariä Himmelfahrt.
“Buama auf, die Zeit is do!“ as the shepherds eagerly set off on their journey to the manger. We accompany them on their way to the wonder of Christmas.
Currently a feeling of seasonal agitation can also be perceived in our daily life – sometimes more than we can cope with. Trying to find the most suitable present or the planning and organizing of the festivities beforehand. Aren’t we are frequently overwhelmed from the hustle and stress at this stage, just then when we feel the need for some peace and quiet and to have more time for each other?
It was the simple people, the shepherds, who journeyed to Bethlehem, motivated with hope, belief and curiosity. Both the Advent and the Christmas season give us the opportunity to reflect back on our own special journey to the manger.
On the 4th Sunday in Advent, the 18th of December 2011, the “Weihnacht im Woid” begins at 17.00 in the Cath. parish church of Mariä Himmelfahrt in Bodenmais.
Those singing, playing and reciting are:
• the Lamer-Winkel-Viergesang
• the Schwarzachtaler Saitenmusi, Rötz
• the Stoiber-Deandln, Hohenwarth
• the Falkensteiner Geigenmusik, Ludwigsthal
• the Zwieseler-Winkel-Dreigesang
• the Hofmarkmusikanten, Bodenmais
• Wolfgang Ronsberger, Bodenmais
Through the ages, people have tried to expres this intangible wonder with music and song. Let’s take on the challenge with joy and optimism to renew our own personal approach to the nativity. The sound of traditional folk music instruments, with lyrics and melodies can help us to rediscover the wonder of Christmas.
