An info evening held by Dr. Isabelle Auer about the surrounding beauties of the Arber.
On Tuesday the 27.09.2011 at 20.00 in the Cultural Center of the old guildhall, the Arber district consultant Dr. Isabelle Auer from the Bavarian Forest Nature Park will be introducing the region surrounding the Arber and the Riesloch waterfalls.
The Grosse Arber is 1455.6 meters high and is not only the highest mountain of the Bavarian-Bohemian mountain range, but also enjoys a very particular status due to the nature of it: the dense coexistence of splendid natural phenomenon makes the Arber region to a treasure chest of immeasurable value. The Riesloch waterfalls, diverse moors, the glacial lakes with steep wall declivity and the virgin forest give this unspoilt area a distinctive character. The barren Arber summit with its relicts of the ice age is of great interest, and the animal and flora wildlife of the whole Bavarian border mountain range is unique.
Since 1939 a considerable part of the region has been placed under nature conservation in order to preserve its uniqueness. Since the year 2000 the whole summit area is subject to restrictive foot paths. Admission is free. For further information please call: +49(0)9924/905294
