It’s not just the sportsmen at the Vancouver Olympics who are currently competing for a ranking on winner’s podium. In Bodenmais there’s a hard competition taking place during the next few days. On Friday (19.02.) the Bavarian Forestry Biathlon is being held at the Hohenzollern ski stadium. The Mayor Michael Adam and the Forestry Commission supervisor Jürgen Völkl will be welcoming the sportsmen at the guildhall in Bodenmais on Thursday.
The competition at the stadium starts on Friday at 9 o‘clock – beginning with classic style. The competitors for the skating style get ready to start at 10:30. The Bavarian Forestry employees must run a maximum distance of four laps, which is a total of 12 Kilometers. However the competitors are divided into different categories, which mean that not all of them will have to run the full distance. The women’s track has a distance of 6 Kilometers.
The award ceremony will take place at 14:00 at the parish hall in Bodenmais.
