The Bavarian Forest is full of hidden talents. It’s particularly in the field of arts and culture that people with such talents are to be found. The “Bodenmaiser Kleinkunst-Brettl” (The Bodenmais floor show) is a new forum for regional and local artists alike; for newcomers and mainstream. All different cultural backgrounds,- from cabaret artist to magician, from string quartet to jazz trio, from guitar virtuoso to house music will be performing during the winter half-year - normally that’s the first Saturday of the month – presenting their talents “on-stage” in various localities.
Tom Bauer, book author and fairy-tale cabaret artist presents his program “GRIMMinelle Gschichten” which is derived from the Brother Grimm tales, “slightly modernized in Bavarian verse form”. And of course everybody knows the Brothers Grimm tales. On the other hand, who knows why Snow White has such a pale complexion – was she ill or was there another reason? Why did Hansel and Gretel get hopelessly lost in the woods for three days, but found the shortest way home after they’d burnt the wicked old witch? Was there really any witch burning at that time? Why did a prince come to Sleeping Beauties castle exactly 100 years to the day – was there an anonymous call? And why on earth did he get the idea of kissing a dust covered women that had been lying around for the last 100 years? Question upon question that are being inimitably posed by Tom Bauer on Saturday 6 March in Bistro Zucchero – who received the East Bavarian cabaret award 2009 and in the mean time is a regular guest at the Munich Slaughterhouse.
