Carnival in Bodenmais is ready and raring to go with a great program. Starting on Thursday (3rd March) "Fat Thursday”, with the “storming of the guildhall”, when the Bodenmais carnival skirts take charge of the guildhall in Bodenmais at 17:11. There’ll be lots of fun along with free beer and doughnuts.

On Carnival Saturday (5th March) the traditional TSV Bodenmais “Turnerball” takes place in the parish hall. The cover-band “Kir Royal Extra” will be providing the suitable music for a great party atmosphere. A supporting program with entertaining sketches from the world of football, will guarantee good humor and high spirits. Sunday will be a real carnival hits Sunday: Marina Kirsten, alias Andrea Berg, sings the hit songs from Germanys hit queen with the great voice. The audience will thoroughly enjoy themselves with hits like “Ich sterbe nicht noch mal”or “Du hast mich 1000 mal belogen”.

Dirk Maron alias Wolfgang Petry also has the capability to spellbound the audience. And it’s more than just coincidence that the double really is an astonishing “look-alike” that could be mistaken for the original. That’s all rounded off with his voice and musical talent. Even when “Wolle“ himself no longer appears on stage, Dirk Maron has no problems to bring the party atmosphere to the boil, with "Verlieben verloren", "Der Himmel brennt" or "Wahnsinn".

Shrove Tuesday (8th March) has always been the grand finale in Bodenmais with the carnival procession. At about 11.00, the procession “Party-Worm” trails through Bodenmais to the marketplace. Then there’s an “After trailing-party” provided by the Youth Culture Association. At 13.00 carnival time for the younger ones will slowly finish the day with the children’s carnival at the Pfarrzentrum. During the entire “harebrained days”, the Bodenmaiser gastronomy provides numerous events in restaurants, pubs and at the discotheque.

“The Carnival ball in Bodenmais” provides lots of great entertainment and good party atmosphere, with tombola, stage acts, Moving Art, music with Kir Royal Extra, and sketches from the TSV Bodenmais. Tickets are available from Malerei Treml, in the Bahhofstraße.

The carnival Tuesday “Gaudiwurm” with Bodenmaiser clubs and associations, trails through Bodenmais to the marketplace. Afterwards there’s the “After trailing-party” provided by the Youth Culture Association at the town center.

Children’s carnival at the parish hall, Tuesday, 08.03.2011 at 13.00
Good humor, fun and great music with entertainment and dance for the younger ones, slowly finishes the carnival festivities. Fun and games are provided by Sonja the clown at 14:00
