The Bodenmaiser Johannes Weinberger at the Alpen Grand Prix 2011

The Weinberger family in Bodenmais is delighted. Johannes who is scholar, musician and junior landlord at his parent’s Gasthof zum Rosserer-Wirt, is taking part on the preliminary heat of the “Alpen Grand Prix 2011” in Vilshofen on 21st May.

This music competition is known in the music branch as the par excellence of competitions for up and coming talents, and it was the stepping stone into the world of media for many television stars of today. Among others there’s Florian Fesl, Romy, Allgäu Power to mention just a few.
The competition is carried out in two categories – hit and folk music.
An independent expert jury selects 10 titles from the respective category for the preliminary heat.
These artists will then take part in the competition on 21st May 2011 in the Atrium from Vilshofen. Whereby a further five participants from each category will be selected by an expert jury and invited to the finals in Meran.
Two participants will be directly voted by the general public via TV and Radio.
Johannes was able to achieve this in the category folk music. “Die Waidlerleut“, the title that he’s performing at the competition, was written by composer Günther Zirngibl, who also produced the new CD from Johannes.

The preliminary heat will be recorded by numerous TV and radio stations and then broadcasted worldwide on various fixed dates via cable, satellite and Internet.
