Don’t scare away day trippers
Many Bodenmais locals are afraid that a good deal of day trippers visiting Bodenmais could be scared away due to the parking fees raised. The day visitor card was introduced as an attractive system to offer day trippers more real added value. Guests can park free of charge (exception: the Activity center Bodenmais-Bretterschachten) and take advantage of various touristic offers locally for only 1.95 Euros per day. The municipal council, administration and Tourismus-GmbH have come to the conclusion that parking fees will definitely not frighten off day trippers from visiting Bodenmais, providing an intelligent package is made offering real added value. Ultimately, the guest is far more interested as to what the resort has to offer for his money, rather than the question of whether parking fees are being raised. Bodenmais aims to offer day trippers more touristic added value with the day visitor card, in a form that doesn’t exist anywhere else.
Parking lot machines offer more than just parking tickets
The parking lot machines were supplied with the necessary technology from Reif Systemtechnik in Zwiesel and also installed from the firm. As it deals with a pilot project here that’s being promoted by the Bavarian state, there were many issues that had to be taken into careful consideration and well worked out in advance.
Before the automats were even put into operation, many other townships had already shown great interest (and by no means just those from the Bavarian Forest). Then these automats are so-called intelligent appliances. Apart from printing tickets a great deal of information is also offered, whether dealing with accommodation, offering touristic service facility or A-Z from Bodenmais. This offer is growing steadily and is regularly updated, so here the guest can get the required information he needs, at any time! Furthermore, he can directly call through to the Tourist Information in the guildhall per telephone from the automat, absolutely free of charge.
The not too distant future will show whether the investment from the Bavarian state in the pilot project Bodenmais will be a promising investment and granted success or not.
