The Bodenmaiser Mayor Michael Adam came under the hammer on New Year’s Eve. On the 5 September he’ll be travelling up to Cologne to meet the winner as promised. Hannelore Auweiler from Köln has invited him come to the Cologne vicarage fete. The Bodenmaiser Mayor will be the guest of honor, representing his town together with three musicians. The date and the occasion were entirely specified by the winner. “I’m greatly looking forward to the occasion so that we can finally conclude last year’s campaign”, said Michael Adam very pleased. He supports the campaign “Friend and sponsor” of the municipal market of Bodenmais, by fulfilling the the commitment with his personal participation.

Punctually at 00.30hrs, the name of the winner (Hannelore Auweiler from Cologne) was drawn, closely followed by 2500 party guests during the Bodenmais New Year’s Day celebrations. She can now look forward to a visit from Adam this September, accompanied by a brass band! A specific date was arranged with the winner. Last year guests could voluntary take part on the Bodenmais campaign “Friends and sponsors“, which also made them eligible for the raffle to win the Mayor as first prize.

“It really was unbelievable how many people took part, and have helped us so much. We are very thankful indeed and would gladly like to carry on with the campaign”, said Michael Adam. As usual, a fee of five Euros will be raised each year for the badge. The guests can acquire the badge in about 500 lodgings when checking in. The fee of five Euros will be passed on to the municipal market of Bodenmais. But now I’m looking forward to visiting Cologne, it’s a great city and I hope that I can make the day a treat for the winner”, declared the 25 year old Mayor.

In participating, holidaymakers support the further development of their holiday resort, particularly the events and comprehensive cultural program. The voluntary sponsor contribution is solely for the community e.g. the Christmas market and seasonal decorations, the associations and the retailer events. The BTM will carry the cost of the Mayors visit to Cologne including the band.
