The Bodenmais ski marathon runner Thomas Freimuth has been performing very impressively for many years now, which hasn’t gone unnoticed in the ski-marathon scene. At present Freimuth is rated as Germany’s best ski-marathon runner.

Due to his international success, the Bodenmaiser has also made a name for himself in Scandinavia. It‘s there that cross-country skiing is done professionally, where very good athletes are integrated to form professional teams.

After contract negotiations during and after the Vasaloppet week, an agreement was reached between the Team Xtra and Freimuth. Today the Team Xtra presented the new formation at a press conference in Oslo. Team Xtra includes: Anders Aukland, Jens Arne Svartedal, Jerry Ahrlin, Jørgen Aukland and Thomas Freimuth!
The team will be taking part in the big Fis Marathon Cup races and the big ski-marathon competitions around the world, where the team will be dominantly trying to get well placed this winter.

Thomas Freimuth will be completely integrated in the team, and he’ll be getting prepared for the next marathon season here. The cooperation will begin on the 1. May.

“I’m greatly looking forward to the training camps together with such successful runners as the Aukland brothers or Arne Svartedal. I’m sure to be able to gain a lot of new experience“, said a delighted Freimuth. The head of the Skadi Bodenmais, Andreas Adam: “We’re very proud and happy to have such a successful sportsman in our midst. Thomas is the best example for our cross-country ski youngsters”, said Adam.
