Star-meeting in Bodenmais: Tobias Angerer comes to the Activity Center again

The top German cross-country ski athlete Tobias Angerer is comimg to the Star-meeting on the 26th March at the Bodenmais Activity Center on the Bretterschachten. While doing some professional training in Bodenmais, he’ll be disclosing some good tips and tricks on the track. Due to the fact that the Skadi Loppet is taking place shortly before, means that the ski conditions will be adequate on the following weekend. Tobias Angerer, who recently won WM bronze with the German relay team in Norway, will be conducting a brief training unit before going on a tour of the track. Spectators are then very welcome to attend at 11.30 and admission is free of charge.

Kick-off is on Saturday (26th March) at 11.45 with a brief welcome from the figurehead of the German cross-country ski sport and a compulsory warm-up. Afterwards, Tobias Angerer will be holding a course on the basics of the skating technique and showing how to get the right drive – so that cross-country skiing makes fun. After the basics, Tobias Angerer will be getting his squad really into the swing of things with a skating tour. “I’m very glad that Tobias Angerer has come back to Bodenmais again. I really did learn a lot from him the last time he was here”, said Mayor Michael Adam, who has already participated on the Star-meeting 2009. After training has finished at approx.15.30, an “award ceremony” and a joint meal with the cross-country pro will round off the day.

Tobias Angerer has been a real crowd puller in the German cross-country ski scene for many years now. He won the overall World Cup two years consecutively in 2006 and 2007 as well as the Tour de Ski also in 2007. At the Olympic winter games (2006) in Turin, he won silver with the relay team and bronze over 15 Kilometers. Furthermore, he has also won four silver and three bronze medals at the Nordic World Ski Championships.
