Concerts, cinema and good entertainment.
For the fourth year running now, the series of events offered at the marketplace include a medley of great musical and varied entertainment.
Starting on the 28th June, numerous performances are taking place at the town center in Bodenmais.
The well established and popular musical afternoons with the slogan “Leut hört´s zua“(listen carefully everybody), are taking place every Tuesday and Thursday at 17.00, with musicians from Bodenmais and surrounding area, who offer great entertainment. The Bodenmaiser brass bands will be regularly performing traditional brass music with “Music on Wednesday” (22.06 until 10.08 at 19.00) and “Music on Sunday” (21.08 at approx. 11.15 a.m.). The open air cinema will also be running. This year the new Bavarian comedy “Grenzverkehr“ (01. 07 + 31.08) and Bully Herbigs “Brandner Kasper” (15.07 + 24.08) will ensure good, amusing entertainment on those mild summer evenings.
But also concerts with all different kinds of music are part of the program. In the series of “Summer night music“ the Irish-Bavarian band “Shameless Jabber“ from Regen (08.08), “groovy“ music from “Making Blues” (18.08) and the home town lads from “Gipfelstürmern” (26.08), will be providing real diversified music at its best. But also traditional folk music enthusiasts won’t be missing out. The folklore evening “A Musi im Dorf” invites all to join in again on two fixed dates (estimated 29.07 + 03.09) and enjoy open air music and culture. The star guest 2011 will be the Japanese yodeler Takeo Ischi on the 11. 08, who is visiting the beer garden at the marketplace once again.
Program changes are possible due to the weather conditions.
