There are very many hidden talents in the Bavarian Forest. Especially in the scope of arts and culture there are people with special talents, who are consistently just waiting to be discovered. The “Bodenmaiser Kleinkunst-Brettl” launched a new forum 2009 for both regional and local artists alike, whether newcomer or mainstream. All ranges of artists, from country singer to jazz quartet, from cabaret ensemble to chamber music instrumentation, are appearing at the ”Brettl” during the winter half year (October to April). The “Brettl” arrangements always take place on the first Saturday of the month, at different pubs in Bodenmais where the artists are performing.

On Saturday the 12th February at 20:00, local artists from Bodenmais are onstage at the “Brettl” (small floor show): In the pleasant atmosphere of the “Hotel Waldesruh” the “Hofmarkmusikanten Bodenmais” will be providing excellent concert brass music entertainment!
The “Hofmarkmusikanten” were formed from the “Knappschaftskapelle Bodenmais” brass band, who perform at important church festivals, playing fitting music in the parish church. In December 2004 they performed their first music concert with the title “Übers Jahr gespielt!“, a musical review of the past year. In recent years, Franz-Josef Weikl, Alexander Lochstampfer (both trumpet), Hans und Gernot Andres (both French horn), Richard Freilinger, Sepp Brem (both tenor horn/bariton/trombone) and tuba player Hans Kuchl have taken part in following events: “drumherum – a folk music spectacle“ in Regen, the “Facination Brass“ festival in Bad Fussing and various recording arrangements with the Bavarian broadcasting network. In 2007 the “Hofmarkmusikanten” also played some pieces for a folk music CD, recorded for the music federation of Upper and Lower Bavaria, and in 2009 the seven musicians performed the festival service to celebrate the folk music day "Menschen in Europa" at the Dreiburgensee from the Publishing Group Passau.
