The cross-country ski runs are available, the lifts are in operation – the winter sport season is open! In the ski district of the Großen Arber, at the Bodenmais Activity Center (Bretterschachten) and the Silberberg there’s a snow depth of between 45 to 65 centimeters, and about 40 centimeters in Bodenmais itself. The ski-buses are running between Bodenmais and the skiing district with immediate effect. The official Ski-Opening took place on the 28 December at the JOSKA Glassmakers lodge – with Daniel Küblböck and his band as the highlight. Due to the limited amount of room the concert and the party took place in front of the Glassmakers lodge displayed on a big public viewing screen.

After a great performance during carnival – for many a great surprise – it was just a logical consequence to get him to top the bill at the Silberberg Ski Opening Party. Despite pouring rain, his previous performance was second to none and both the artist and audience really enjoyed themselves in Bodenmais. This year, the Ski Opening Party is taking place on the grounds of the JOSKA Glassmakers lodge, the Küblböck concert is in the Glassmaker’s lodge. The relocation from the market place took place due to the fact that the party can take place independent of the “weather” situation, and to use the options at hand from JOSKA. “It doesn’t matter whether you like Küblböck or not, the fact is that he put on a great show during carnival. And to be quite honest, it doesn’t happen very often that so many fans travel extra to see him in Bodemais“, said JOSKA’s chief executive Josef Kagerbauer jun. in retrospect of the carnival concert.

The concert took take place on the 28 December in front of Glassmaker’s lodge. The concert was free of charge for holidaymakers and locals alike. “Daniel Küblböck is still very active and mentioned weekly on the national media. And we naturally hope that Bodemais will become more popular due to his second appearance here”; said the BTM managing director Andreas Lambeck. He’s personally very pleased that Küblböck evidently enjoyed both Bodenmais and the people and really wants to come back to Bodenmais again. “In addition, Daniel Küblböck has certainly got a large and faithful fan club that also accompanies him during his appearances“, explained Lambeck.

Although other parts of Germany are complaining about the loads of snow, Bodenmais is glad that it’s all finally started again. With immediate effect the slogan is: Ultimate winter sports in Bodenmais – with perfect snow conditions!
