Langlaufzentrum Bretterschachten:
Die Langlaufsaison am Langlaufzentrum Bretterschachten neigt sich dem Ende zu: Mit Ablauf des kommenden Sonntags (16. März) wird das tägliche Spuren am Bretterschachten eingestellt. Danach kann man nur noch den „Altbestand“ nutzen. Die Toiletten werden täglich noch eine Woche darüber hinaus aufgesperrt, dann ist die diesjährige Langlaufsaison beendet.

A new panoramic view of the Bavarian Forest opens up around almost every bend. The Bretterschachten cross-country skiing center above Bodenmais is one of the most important in the whole of Central Europe. The favorable altitude between 1100 and 1300 meters guarantees a safe natural snow cover in times when more and more ski regions are struggling with a lack of snow.

Classic & Skating
The Bretterschachten offers a total of 114 kilometers of trails - skating and classic parallel. From the short beginners' circuit around the stadium to the challenging 18-kilometre circuit along the flanks of the Großer Arber, there is something for every taste and ability.
Cross-country skiing on Bavaria's longest high-altitude trail is a special experience.
The 30-kilometre Auerhahn trail from the Bretterschachten cross-country skiing center to the Eck runs below the Großer Arber, with constant gentle ups and downs and the opportunity to stop for refreshments halfway along the trail at the Schareben mountain hut deep in the forest.
